 For the movie opening I will be working with my dear friends Jayden from last year's media study group and new group mates Sophia and Conner. I am working with Jayden cause we worked together last year on the opening and music video and he found Sophia and Conner who are willing to help. I will not be available when the film is being shot so I will be editing the whole film. Jayden will work with the planning, help do the drawing for the storyboard, and be acting in the movie. Sophia will make the website, postcards and help with planning. Lastly, Conner is indecisive right now so he will help where ever he can but he will likely help with the actual filming or editing. We will be making a movie opening on World War II, with the battle being the invasion of Sicily. This filming should go pretty smoothly as we have a well established plan and other people willing to help. Jayden has gotten larpers which are people who love to reenact moment in history and or live action role-playing. I will try to be as involved with this project as possible and assist wherever I can. We already have quite a good idea on how this project will be filmed and edited. We are all very excited to start filming for this project and can't wait to start filming. As we keep planning I have higher hopes for how well the short film will go. This project will be a lot of work and we will have to work hard on everything. I hope that this goes better than last years filming on the opening since the opening sucked and the planning failed because Daniel was incompetent. Once we move onto editing I will work on most of it and I will need to learn how to edit since I was an actor last year but my schedule collides with the film schedule but I don't mind. Conner will probably be the camera man or one of the larpers will film so then quality remains consistent. This will take a long time to properly do especially since I have to learn a whole new skill which is editing. I can't wait for the bigger parts of this project to come such as planning, storyboarding, filming and editing, to see the final product of all our hard work.

  The genre of my short film will be war fiction. This means our character is placed in a completely fictional scenario that is based on historical events. War films can be distinguished through their opening sequence, which has a clich é  of introducing a violent setting very suddenly. However, there is the exception of there being a happy and upbeat or perhaps a calm setting before introducing the main battlefield. One example being the short film named "Remembering the fallen" produced by Immediate Entertainment. Since my film is a short , there likely will not be time to include a peaceful setting first and have to cut right to the action.

 Hi, My name is Myles and this is an introduction about me. I am 16 years old, turning 17 on September 15th. I am in 11th grade at Fort Lauderdale High school where I plan to compete in wrestling. On my own time I enjoy drawing and doing martial arts. Although I enjoy doing martial arts, a lot of my time is taken up by the other responsibilities I have and work that continues to be piled onto me. I have a job nearby the school at a piano shop where I fix up pianos and tune them. On top of that school is throwing a lot of work on me also but I'm managing through it with little time to myself but still managing. Short film research: Laymun

  Today we are analyzing Laymun By Catherine Promise and Hannah Quinn .   Laymun was released in 2017 and is a part of the dystopian drama genre. The film tells the story of a woman who grows and plants lime trees ( laymun in Arabic) in a desolate and war-torn environment. Using these trees as symbols of hope and resistance, the protagonist contrasts the destruction around her with the act of cultivating life. When analyzing the sounds in Laymun there is both uses of Non-diegetic and Diegetic sounds. The non-diegetic sounds are the eerie drones or melancholic music which show the emotional depths the films portray. These sounds and their effects in the piece are common in war fiction short films. Like other War fiction films the Mis-En-Scene has dark natural lighting that emphasizes the destruction of war, and the costumes are torn and dirty representing the struggles they face in war.
